I love the stories and photos of Western Canada’s past and I am deeply committed to history, writing, reading, visual literacy and learning for all ages.
Author of 11 books and co-author of a travel book, my other credits include many poems, articles, interviews and short stories. As well, I have been editor for three books and a literary magazine, and I’ve served as writer-in-residence for Calgary Public Library and Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society, Calgary.
Working with all ages and skill levels, I enjoy presenting at readings, writing workshops and special events. Whether speaking at history-related and learning-related events and conferences, I like to include Powerpoint photographic images, too.
Also, a former high school teacher, I have taught many writing workshops for continuing education programs including for Mount Royal University. If you are interested in more information about my readings, author residencies, full-day and week-long workshops, as well as adult and school programs, check out my website: http://www.wordsandhistory.ca/. There, too, you will find a full description of my books. To order books, ask at your local bookstores or follow the links on my website.
